My amazing, inspiring, incredibly brave friend, Jeanne Oliver, is getting ready to relaunch her e-course Creatively Made on Monday, and she's asked me to give away 2 spots to my blog readers. I had the pleasure of taking this class when she launched it in the spring, and had such a wonderful time getting to know Jeanne better and learning her art techniques. One of the goals of Jeanne's class is getting to know yourself better through creating art, and taking advantage of the unique gifts each of us have been given. Fat Quarter Pillow Class

Join me for FABRIC, FOOD, and FUN while learning how to sew an amazing, yet simple pillow for your home, studio, or as a gift for someone you love!

This is going to be a really fun class where you'll learn how to make an 18 inch zipper bottomed pillowcase. You WILL leave class with a completed pillowcase. [getting a second one at least started is possible if you're a speedy sewer] We'll be having a break halfway through for a simple lunch of Michigan Chicken salad, strawberries, egg roll, and crackers with cheese. We'll also have plenty of drink choices to keep you hydrated. I hope you'll join us!

 

SUPPLIES:

• fabric: 3 co-ordinating fat quarters 
  [you can bring more to patchwork your pillow]
• 1 yard 18" quilt batting or 1/2 yard regular batting
• scissors / rotary cutter
• ruled straight edge
• self-healing mat
• sewing machine
• thread
• 18" zipper 
  [longer will work]
• sense of humor
• buttons & ribbon 
  [these are optional]
• 18" pillow form 
  [you don't need to bring this to class, but will need it to fill your pillow]

Kean's will provide an ironing board and irons for us all to use, and there is ample electrical outlets for all our machines.
